A study of the service history of the 601-910, 38 Amp-hour battery used in the Meridian has shown that this battery is consistently able to provide the required electrical power well beyond the originally published life limit of 1800 hours or three (3) years, whichever comes first. As the result of a coordinated effort between Piper Aircraft and the battery manufacturer, Piper now extends the life limit of all 601-910 batteries used in the Meridian to 5,000 hours of operation, or five (5) calendar years, whichever comes first.
This extended life limit is applicable only to the 601-910 batteries.
